Resurrection Week

Well after reading about the origin ( http://christiananswers.net/q-eden/edn-t020.html?zoom_highlight=easter ) of the name Easter.. I felt convicted to make some changes to the way we celebrate our Lord's Resurrection. With nothing coming to mind I was getting a little let down. Then after a little brain storming with my mom the day before Good Friday. God answered our prayers for something that would be a celebration but honoring to the Lord. So I want to share one of the ideas now. I will put more up later. Praise the Lord HE IS RISEN!

For Good Friday we made a tomb this idea came from friends years ago but this is the first year we have made our own and we where a little late .. if you plan it just right you can have grass on your hill by Sunday.

Saturday we painted stones! not eggs but stones. I believe we are going to call them Stones of Truth. The stone is a reminder to us of the stone that was rolled away to show that the Lord was no longer held by the grave but had conquered death. The bright colors remind us of the new life we have because of the sacrifice that the Lord made for us, making us a new creation if we repent and believe Jesus is the Christ.

That night Grandma put the scripture versus on each Stone of Truth. Today on Resurrection Sunday we hunted Stones of Truth and then gathered together taking turns reading from the Word of God the versus found on each child's stone. So we looked for God's truth found it and hid it in our hearts! What a blessing! We drank lemonade and played with balloons after.

What a wonderful day and what a wonderful new tradition for our family! Thank you Lord!!

First Lost Tooth... Growing up!

Leah has been messing with her wiggle tooth for so long now.. Everyone was very glad to see it come out. (Judah helped by hitting her in the mouth with a block.) I was looking back on our blog and saw that Sarah lost her first tooth when we where expecting Judah. Now here we are expecting Anna and Leah loses her first tooth.
This does mean that my Leah is growing up... She was the baby for so long and has always been small but now she is starting to change and grow. It's hard sometimes to think of the girls getting so grown but it is a blessing at the same time. God didn't give them to us for a time to keep them little. He gave them to us to help them grow, grow in Him. We don't always do a great job at this but the are wonderful girls all the same. And they do know the truth of our Lord.
Blessed are we by girls growing up, in my heart they will always be my babies.
